Invest in Tomato Farming
Tomato Greenhouse Farm in Bohol - Philippines

One of the best investments is food investment, no matter what happen with international economy, crisis or epidemic situations - food always needed.

Investing 26000 USD you will get 1600 USD per month for the next 7 years
Why Philippines is a good place to start farming business?

First of all its about good climate for farming. Average temperatures in the Philippines usually range between 21 °C and 32 °C with the average yearly temperature coming in at around 26.6 °C . Temperatures can fluctuate between regions and depending on the season, however generally January is the coolest month while May is the warmest.

“There is a lot of potential in the Philippine vegetable sector. Annually, the country’s vegetable production is increasing by almost two percent and the growth of the area being dedicated to planting vegetables is a 1.7 percent. The country’s annual growth rate for vegetable production is close to two percent, not enough to meet even the local demands for vegetables. That is why we still need to import more than $3 million worth of vegetables, which could ideally be supplied by our local farmers,” East-West Seed (EWS) general manager Mary Ann Sayoc said.

In plus farming businesses in Philippines are still primitive, so with better technologies and studies farming business can make really great profits all year around.

In addition to the above, the company will seek contacts at universities and researchers that are involved in greens, and will continue the quest for the best flavoured, large, and firm vegetable throughout the year.

Future product plans
In the future the company would like to explore the possibility of hydroponic vegetable production. GBF believes this to be a high revenue venture, which, if successful, could become our number one endeavour.
Market Analysis Summary
In an era of big-box food stores, when 5 major supermarkets control the purchase of vegetables, in plus 17 open air local markets and hundreds of hotels & restaurants, giving more consumers an option to purchase fresh tomatos (approx 800 tonn/year).

GBF will not only supply the major supermarkets, but also the markets mentioned above. We will be able to occupy this niche, since most vegetables are imported to Bohol island from other more developed islands like Cebu and Mindanao.

Market Segmentation

For the purposes of this plan, we are focusing on retail supermarkets and local markets in Bohol Island.

Industry Analysis
Greenhouse industry is still new in Bohol market, in terms of research and the number of completely developed farms. The biggest negative is the start-up costs to erect a fully state-of-the-art project. Therefore, if a project is going to be developed, two major factors need to be taken into account.

- Selected Markets. Due to high quality, vegetables must be sold retail outlets, etc. to retrieve highest price.
- Project size. The project must be able to supply produce all year round; if not, retail outlets will not be interested.

The Industry is still small, and therefore this project will create interest among all the major veg outlet markets.

Competition and Buying Patterns
GBF aims to be the biggest grower of tomatoes in the Bohol region. At present there are very few big growers, minimizing the competition. The advantage of greenhouse on a large scale is the availability to produce vegetables all year round in large quantities. This immediately becomes a positive factor with major retail outlets and exporters.

Strategy and Implementation Summary
Green Bohol Farm strategy is to profitably and efficiently utilise present and future agricultural technology in the production of tomatoes. The company, by developing a profitable vegetable farm with all the necessary custom-innovated equipment, will gain a significant industry advantage.

Additional application and utilisation of horticultural technology in the production of vegetables will double the production.

The company's goals in the first year are to:
Develop the complete project.
- To have all 7000sqm planted and ready for production.
- To have grading and pack shed constructed.
- The company's long term plan is to also produce more selective vegetables growing with hydroponic technology.

Competitive Edge
Green Bohol Farm main competitive advantages will be: Efficient production utilizing greenhouses. No existing projects of this magnitude in Bohol region. Experience in the vegetable industry goes back to 2008.
Marketing Strategy
Green Bohol Farm will market and supply its products to the selected outlets aggressively, focusing at first on local markets. We will emphasize the reliable year-round output of our greenhouse facilities, as well as the ability to produce in-demand, non-native tomatoes for Restaurants.
The company will also eventually develop a website and social media platforms to show the process of all stages.

Sales Strategy
Sales process is mainly sold through wholesale marketing. Tomatoes will be transported on open back trucks inside wooden baskets as per orders.
